ICOS-D | Nationale Umsetzung des Integrierten Kohlenstoff-Beobachtungssystems; Teilprojekt: Aufbau und Betrieb der Station Mooseurach, vTI
The project “Integrated Carbon Observation System - Germany” (ICOS-D) will establish the German contribution to “Integrated Carbon Observation System” (ICOS-EU). The European Research Infrastructure ICOS-EU aims to provide the long-term observations required to develop knowledge and understanding of the present status and future behavior of the global carbon cycle and greenhouse gas emissions. In particular, in the view of understanding how climate changes and human activities modify the GHGs, the project aims to define the spatial and temporal patterns of greenhouse gas sources and sinks over the European domain for at least the next 20 years. Furthermore this research is crucial for monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of carbon sequestration and/or greenhouse gases emission reduction activities.
